Welcome to Gbi-Bla

A culturally grounded community on the northern frontier of the Volta Region preserving our heritage, protecting our environment, and building opportunity for generations to come.

Our home, our heritage

Second largest of the nine divisions of the Gbi Traditional Area

Gbi-Bla forms the northern frontier of the Volta Region of Ghana, lying along the Eastern Corridor Road a historic gateway between southern and northern Ghana. Its people, originally known as the Awalime, trace their journey from southern Nigeria through Benin and Notsie to their home on the banks of the River Dayi. Today Gbi-Bla unites three areas Tsrivi, Blanyigbe and Bladzigbe under the Overlord, Togbe Buami.
